Bug Report Form

After an initial assessment by our support department, the resolution of the problem will be assigned to an appropriate engineer. Periodically we will post notices regarding bugs reported by our customers in the Known Problems section of this page, and tips or workarounds on the FAQ page.

Known Problems

The following is a list of some known problems with our software; we are working to correct them for the next release.

  • Using a mathematical symbol at the start of a map title line will cause an error.
  • On installation, the directory name must be a valid Windows 3.1 name even if installing in Windows 95.
  • On installation, the install program sometimes gets confused about which drive it is installing from. Fix: double-click install.exe from file manager or Explorer.
  • Versions prior to 3.0d (see download page for update!). There is logic error in the Brand Projector™ dialog box regarding the 'use of other axes'. The logic is reversed.
  • Versions prior to 3.0d (see download page for update!). There are mathematical errors in Brand Projector™ which affects biplots created with 'column standardization' or the 'deviation from predicted' biplot centering option.
  • Versions prior to 3.0e will not authorize themselves if they are called with a path such as "\\servername\brandmap\brandm97.xla".   This problem is most likely to occur when calling BrandMap from the 'recent file list' in Excel 97.  A work around for this problem is to always call BrandMap with a path such as "v:\brandmap\brandm97.xla".)   The Version 3.0e network upgrade is now shipping.  Corrects several problems that may occur with network authorizations.  If you are having problems with network authorizations, call or Email us and we can send you the new version.
  • Versions prior to 3.0f (see download page for update!).   Brand Projector™ when used on a correspondence map may not work.  A work around is to always replot the map with the flip button before running Brand Projector™.   Plot user matrix will result in errors if the coordinates to be plotted are not in the first sheet on the left of a workbook.  Work around--move the coordinate sheet to the left most position in the workbook.
  • Versions prior to 3.0h (see download page for update!).   Brand Projector™ may experience random, intermittent 'lock-ups' when doing a series of projections.  The work around is to re-start Excel.
  • 3.0h versions dated September 25, 1998 (see download page for update!).   Network versions may not work unless the working directory on start up is the network BrandMap directory.
